She is a Food Engineer (Honours) from the National Agricultural University La Molina (Peru) and holds a PhD in Biosystems Engineering from University College Dublin, Ireland. She is currently Principal Investigator at the CIMO Mountain Research Centre (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal) where she leads the “Food Quality and Safety Analytics” research team.

He is an Engineer in Animal Husbandry, with a Master Degree in Animal Production and a PhD in Animal Science from the Portuguese University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. Currently, he is a Coordinator Professor in the Animal Science Department of IPB, Portugal; and leads the “Food Quality and Safety Analytics” research team at CIMO-IPB.

She is a food microbiologist and holds an MSc in Food and Biotechnology Process Engineering, and an MSc in Food Industry Management (National Food Science Engineering Institute - Massy, France). She is currently a Scientific Officer at Anses, where she leads projects related to microbiological risk assessment, food hygiene and microbiology.

She is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (Maisons-Alfort, France) and holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Biomathematics (AgroParisTech, Paris, France) and a Master Degree in Oceanography (Paris 6, France). She is a Senior Scientist specialised in quantitative risk assessment, epidemiology and mathematical modelling at Anses.

She is a Microbiologist and holds an MSc in Biotechnology for the Health Sciences. She has worked as a research fellow in R&D projects and environmental monitoring programs in the fields of epidemiology and laboratory diagnosis of zoonotic diseases, with an emphasis on Lyme disease and leptospirosis research. Presently she works as a research fellow at CIMO-IPB, where she develops research in food safety and microbiology.

He is a PhD student in Intelligent Systems Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, where he also completed his Master’s in Informatics. During his Master’s, he developed a visualization-oriented natural language interface (V-NLI) to support natural language querying, meta-analysis, and dynamic data visualization in the PIF database. His research centers on applying Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing to enable AI-assisted analytics, automate literature processing workflows, and improve the scalability and usability of the platform.

Khadidja Reguieg completed her Master’s degree in Microbiology at Hassiba Benbouali University of Chlef (Algeria), and she is presently enrolled in the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança (IPB, Portugal) to pursue a Master’s in Biotechnological Engineering. She worked in the field of microbiology and genetics to characterise Pseudomonas savastanoi; and she is now a researcher at CIMO-IPB working on the project of Pathogens in Foods.

Mariem Ayed holds a Food Industry Engineering degree with a Masters in Food Quality and Safety from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal. She has experience in the production of kefir, and in the phenotypic characterisation of lactic acid bacteria. Currently, she works as a researcher at the Mountain Research Centre (CIMO/IPB) within the Food Quality and Safety Analytics team.

Meriem Berrached holds a Pharmacy degree from Djillali Liabes University, Faculty of Medicine, Algeria; and a Master’s degree in Biotechnological Engineering from the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, Portugal. She is currently a researcher at CIMO advancing the scope of the Pathogens-in-Foods database, and, at the same time, investigating the antimicrobial resistance and biofilm formation capacity of foodborne pathogens.
